Religious and Cultural Events
The following list includes input from BMC student leaders based on their identification of dates that would most impact their college experiences. This impact may include, but is not limited to, student fasting, attending services, or going home to be with family. Our intent is to provide community members with a list that is easy to access and raises awareness of the communities of faith and cultural experiences on campus.
Academic Considerations: While Bryn Mawr does not cancel classes for any religious holidays, it respects its students' right to observe important holidays. Class absences around a religious holiday should be excused. Anything the faculty can do to help students make up work they miss because of such absences would be appreciated. If possible, it is recommended that tests and assignments not be scheduled on or very near holidays.
We invite you to please be mindful of the below BOLDED cultural and religious holiday dates during this coming academic year by avoiding, when possible, any overlapping scheduling of important campus meetings or events for our broader community.
