The Facilities Services team manages a variety of projects across the College.
October 2025 Updates
Project Updates as of October 30, 2025
Description: The passenger elevator will be modernized. (This is the elevator that is currently out of service.)
Status: On-site work has begun. The elevator is scheduled to be back in service in April 2026.
Impacts: The passenger elevator will remain out of service until the modernization is complete. There will be some noise, odor and construction activity within the building. More intensive work will be scheduled int he early morning hours. (The freight elevator will remain in services during the project.)
Description: Upgrade of building fire alarm system
Status: The upgraded system is currently being installed.
Impacts: There will be some noise and construction activity throughout the building as panels and devices are installed and tested.
Description: A new Chemistry lab will be constructed in Park 276 Suite.
Status: On-site construction has begun. The anticipated completion of the work is scheduled for mid to late May 2026.
Impact: There will be some noise and construction activity in the general area of the Suite.
Description: Renovate space on the 1st floor to provide additional office space
Status: On-site work is scheduled to begin November 21st with completion scheduled for mid-January.
Impacts: There will be some noise and construction activity within the building.
Description: Replace the current switch with a code compliant switch and respacing the oldest underground cable on campus. This will improve reliability and will minimize the impact of future maintenance and construction by allowing for the isolation of segments of the loop.
Status: The equipment has been ordered. Site work was completed over the summer. The site has been restored for the semester. Installation of the equipment is scheduled for Spring 2026.
Impacts: None at this time.
Description: The College has completed the restoration of the historic exterior door set facing Goodhart Hall leading onto the Rhys Carpenter roof and will be moving the exit doors nearest the Quita Woodward Room.
Status: A temporary door will be installed. The historic doors will be restored off site. The work will continue on and off over the months of November & December to prepare the opening for the arrival of the restored door at the end of the year.
Impact: There will be minimal if any impact.
Description: The phased renovation of Park Science Complex.
Status: The phased construction is complete. We are working on refreshing common areas and punch list items.
Impact: Minimal disruptions as punch list items are addressed.
Description: Lead paint is being removed from the exterior of the building. The woodwork will then be repainted.
Status: Removal has begun. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-November.
Impacts: Impact to the campus community will be minimal.
